Up until about six months ago, I was still using too nude lipstick. I'm not saying it was exactly my skin color, or lighter, but I wasn't following that suggestion where your lipstick should be no lighter than your gums. I needed to reevaluate my stash of lipsticks.
So I went to the store and picked up three brands of light pink lipsticks. I have a fourth I will talk about that came from my December Ipsy bag as well.
1. I have two in a tie for first place of my favorite. I'll go ahead and start this list with a brand I've used in the past and still love.
>> Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss no. 17 | $4.97
The first few lipsticks I bought by Rimmel had a matte finish and I have been obsessed ever since. Although this tube isn't matte, it still has a little bit of it within the ingredients. I HATE lipsticks that are super shiny. As I've said before, my big lips look 10x bigger with shine on them. So when I found this one, not only was I pleased with the finish, but it was a very pretty pink.
2. This lipstick was one I got in my Ipsy bag last month. Unlike Birchbox's products, this is a brand I'd actually buy at Target or Walmart because of the price.
>> NYX Lip Cream Lipstick no. 556 in Iced Honey | $4.63
Sometimes with NYX products, you get what you pay for so the quality isn't all that great. What I love about this tube is that it's creamy in addition to being that perfect mix between nude and pink. I like to wear this when I've got a smoky eye and clothes with bold color. I don't always want to wear a light pink lipstick when I'm wearing a red or burnt orange.
3. This next lipstick was a brand I have used in the past but just picked the color at random. That same beauty vlogger I mentioned in the second pick is always talking about how universally flattering mauve is on women. So when I saw the name of this tube, I had to try it.
>> L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick no. 140 in Mauved | $4.48
So I knew there would probably be a color in this bunch that I didn't like. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty pink color, but it's too frosted for me. And the frosted look died when Pam Anderson started getting plastic surgery after Baywatch.
4. After watching a vlog on Revlon lip products, I decided to buy one of their lipsticks that was suggesting in the video. Let me just say that this stuff is addicting.
>> Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter no. 080 in Strawberry Shortcake | $5.79
This lipstick is super creamy, almost like I'm wearing Carmex, but it's got color to it. The thing that sets it apart from tinted chapstick is that it stays a lot longer on my lips. When I'm in a hurry to get out of the house, and not particularly "put together", then I'll likely swipe this on my lips so I'll get some color but it won't be as heavy as regular lipstick.
So which one is your favorite? Have you bought these brands or even the same colors? Comment below and let me know!!

I've bought all of them at one time or another
ReplyDeleteI love them all :-) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThose all look really pretty and very flattering on you! I have tried none of those, but I'm really intrigued by the sound of the lipbutter. I always layer a gloss over my lipstick for extra moisture but it would definitely by nice to get it all in one!

I personally can't stand lip gloss. They're all too "sticky" for my liking. But this lipbutter stuff is amazing! Thanks for stopping by and commenting :)
