Then something started happening. The more we were trying to save, the more I had the "urge" to shop. I felt a little guilty buying clothes/shoes, so makeup did the trick. And then it just clicked. Why don't I sign up for Ipsy again? I'm spending more buying makeup on my own, so why not discover more brands like Ipsy was introducing to me and only have to pay $10? Tell me I'm not alone in this struggle.
So I signed up sometime the end of July so that I would be sure to get this month's beauty bag. FYI--if you're wanting to be sure to get a bag the month after you sign up, make sure you do it before the 1st and skip the wait list by following their instructions. Without further ado, here are my glam bag goodies.
THE BAG
First I'll start with this. I know it's not an included beauty product but the bags are part of the reason Ipsy is so much fun. This month's bag is round--reminds me of a pencil pouch...but I guess that's the point since this month is all about getting "beauty schooled". It's white with orange polka dots with an orange zipper. I'm personally not drawn to this bag. It's an odd shape, but I'm sure I could make some use out of it.
KLORANE Extra-gentle dry shampoo with oat milk | Full size $19.50
I've gotten a very similar product in a previous Ipsy bag and I LOVE Klorane. It was the first dry shampoo I ever experienced and it's changed my hair's life. I'm already lucky enough to be one of those that doesn't have to wash her hair on a daily basis and using this stuff puts in an extra day or two on top of between washings. I haven't tried this particular one with oat milk but I trust this brand that I'm not worried.
Jersey Shore Sun MONGONGO Anti-aging Lip Conditioner | $5.50
I've never heard of this brand in my life but who doesn't love chapstick? I don't care for the price AT ALL but I liked the orange flavor and that it has properties to help with antri-aging and damaging effects from the sun. I really like the way it feels on my lips. After reading more about the brand, it has mandarin green orange essential oils as well as rosemary extracts to keep your lips feeling and looking juicy.
COASTAL SCENTS Forever blush | Full size $3.98-$7.95
I'm beginning to really like this brand. I know every product isn't the best quality in the world but it's cheap. And if you're looking to experiment with different brands like this one to test out what kinds of products you like, then this one is THE ONE. The duo sample blush I received was in the colors Fresh and Elegant. The CS site is having a huge sale on powder blushes and these two colors are included. I like that one is a peachy color and the other is very pink so I can switch it up depending on my mood.
FLYING SOLO Eye shadow by J.Cat Beauty | $2.99
This is another brand I've never heard of but I'm not totally opposed because of the price. I didn't get too excited because the color I received was called "Half Naked" and everyone has a similar neutral color. They offer 48 different shades and the pots include an eye shadow sponge and mirror if you open up the bottom. How nifty!! Looking at the pot, it's got a gorgeous gold shimmer. But swatching it is even more beautiful as there is a huge pigment payoff. I think I'm going to have to purchase a couple more of these.
URBAN DECAY 24/7 Velvet Glide-on Eye Pencil | Full size $20.00
Please don't let the price scare you off with this product. I know it's expensive, but this brand is seriously the shiz-nit when it comes to beauty products. Although I haven't tried this one on my own yet, I've read and watched reviews where everyone was in love. They say "it's a smoky-eye fanatic's ultimate liner" because it's waterproof and smooths over the skin like butter. My sample was called "Plushie" and is a gorgeous dark purple color. I can't wait to incorporate this in my everyday makeup routine!
If you're interested in signing up for Ipsy, then visit their site and follow the instructions!! You won't be disappointed.
